Newton Aycliffe FC are delighted to announce the signing of attacking midfielder Joe Gibson. Joe joins us from Whitby Town where he has impressed this season.
Manager Brian Atkinson welcomed the new recruit saying 'I am pleased that Joe has decided to join us. He is a versatile player, able to play in several positions & is a great addition to our squad'.
23 year old Gibson, from Chilton, came through Middlesbrough's youth system before joining NPL Premier side Whitby Town in summer 2024. He played against Aycliffe in our FA Trophy game against Whitby earlier in the season. He made his debut for Aycliffe as a substitute in Wednesday's win at Grimsby Borough & will be available to make his home debut when we entertain league leaders Cleethorpes Town on Saturday 7th December.
